The four themes of GeoERA each have a Theme Coordinator (TC). In 2016 the EGS Expert Groups on Geo-Energy, Water Resources, Mineral Resources and Spatial Information respectively, each proposed candidates for TCs, and in January of 2017 the GeoERA General Assembly formally appointed the four TCs. They are:
- GeoEnergy: Serge van Gessel, TNO, serge.vangessel@tno.nl
- Groundwater: Klaus Hinsby, GEUS, khi@geus.dk
- Raw Materials: Antje Wittenberg, BGR, antje.wittenberg@bgr.de
- Information Platform: Jørgen Tulstrup, GEUS, jtu@geus.dk
The TCs are responsible for both coordination of projects within their Theme as well as for seeking and exploiting synergies with other Themes.
